Star magnolia The flowers on this tree appear very early in the spring before there are leaves anywhere.  It is one of the most beautiful sights I have seen, made even sweeter because it is the first habinger of Spring for winter weary eyes.  This magnolia stands sentry to our front sidewalk where our driveway curves around to lead to the garage under the house.     Pink Flowering Crabapples These trees grow on the east side of our detached garage.  (Also known as the man-cave)  We can't see them from the house at all, which is a shame, they are gorgeous.  The tree was heavy with blossoms this year.  There are a few different varieties back there, but I'm pretty sure they are all some kind of crabapple.
